What happens when the Kickstarter ends?

FIRST THING:

Upon completion of the Kickstarter you will receive a receipt for the Kickstarter pledge charge. It is important for you to check this, and perhaps communicate with your bank to ensure the pledge is successful (as we will not fulfil orders due to a customers’ failed pledge).

BACKERKIT SURVEYS (SHIPPING and UPGRADES)

Once you have a successful receipt, you can rest easy knowing your pledge was recorded and collected - thank you! But things do not end there. The next thing you will need to do is complete your BackerKit Pledge-manager survey - which will open as of March 1st 2021.

In this survey you will be able to include any add on you like, and this is where we will charge shipping. Please note: we will only deliver to backers who both; 1) Successfully pledge to a tier, and 2) Successfully pay for shipping inside of the BackerKit survey.

How do I pay for shipping?

After inputting your postal address to the BackerKit survey, your shipping cost will be automatically calculated. You will be asked to input your card information on the next step of the survey. (see also: see how does COV-ID affect shipping)

How does COV-ID affect shipping?

At the moment global shipping rates are still above average as a result of COVID-19. We hope these will decrease over the duration of our production (although, we can’t know what prices will do at this time), and therefore we will charge cards for shipping as late as possible to maximise the potential for decreasing shipping costs.

What if I want to upgrade or change to a another tier?

You can do this by selecting manage your pledge and then select change your pledge, from here, you’ll be able to adjust your pledge amount or switch to a different reward tier (changing reward tier will automatically update your pledge amount).

Customs and VAT

All orders to the USA, EU, UK, AUS, NZL, Canada are customs friendly and will attract no further costs.

All other countries are duties unpaid and may attract additional taxes dependent on country to country.

Shipping is very high, what are my options?

Unfortunately shipping across the world is very high due to limited flights to various countries as a result of the pandemic and COVID pricing being in effect.

We will wait till the end of the BackerKit survey to finalize shipping prices, and we hope to be able to reduce them as much as possible before charging cards. However this is not a guarantee.

If you cannot pay for shipping as it is beyond what you budgeted for, please contact us at [email protected] with your backer number and we can explore various options that can help work for you.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
